As part of our growth strategy we are looking to add an experienced Study Director to our team of scientists who support our clients in ensuring studies are delivered to a high level of quality.

Key responsibilities and duties of a Study Director:
• To ensure GLP studies are conducted to the required guidelines and standard operating procedures and protocols are followed and data records are updated and recorded accurately
• To be trained in the use of laboratory equipment including calibrating equipment; preventive maintenance, troubleshooting and maintaining equipment inventories
• To preparing samples for analysis, using a variety of sample preparation techniques and tools
• To possess a flexible working style working closely with the Laboratory Manager and other team members to deliver projects on time
• To set high personal standards to ensure studies are delivered to the high level of quality
• To be self-motivated and enthusiastic to work as part of a growing and developing Analytical Team
• Maintain a positive culture of safety in the laboratory and follow all health and safety requirements
• Ambitious and keen to supervise and train Analysts / Technicians in the Chemistry Team
• Experienced in GLP and in the design of study plans / method development / method validation and managing multiple projects
Candidates should possess the following skills/qualifications:
• A positive attitude with a desire to grow and develop within a scientific environment
• Enthusiastic to work in a fast-paced laboratory as part of a dynamic team with a willingness to learn and develop
• Experienced in GLP and in writing and designing study plans, reporting data to clients, collaborating with the other laboratory team members, maintaining contact with sponsors and routinely updating all parties on study developments
• Experienced in method development and method validation activities in relation to the analysis of active substances and formulations
• Experienced in chromatographic techniques such as HPLC and other chromatographic techniques (IC, GC, LC etc) and / or ICP.
• Strong scientific mindset, excellent organizational skills and ability to work under pressure
• Desired qualifications; preferably BSc in Analytical Chemistry OR relevant discipline
The ideal candidate will possess:
• The aptitude to learn new skills, ensure accurate data recording, and to be able to follow procedures precisely
• Excellent organisational and communication skills
• A strong attention to detail and drive for high levels of quality
• A desire to work in a highly regulated industry ensuring sustainability for the future
• Minium of 5 to 10 years’ experience of working in a GLP Facility (preferably in a CRO environment)
• Experience of working closely with sponsors and regulatory authorities preferably across the agrochemical, industrial chemical, biocide or animal health industries
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Ability to learn new techniques, perform multiple tasks simultaneously, keep accurate records, follow instructions, and comply with company policies
